The WaterInnEU interoperability pilot aims to apply existing hydrological standards, primarily those developed recently by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), to a hypothetical flood scenario in the Scheldt and Maritsa river basins.
Information from the pilot will be used to determine the applicability of these standards in real-life scenarios and to provide recommendations for potential improvements in specific elements.
It is hoped that the pilot will be a first step in demonstrating best practice in the use of standards to encourage interoperability between ICT tools that are being developed to support data gathering, analysis and modelling in the water sector.
The pilot will be officially launched at the EIP Water Conference 2016 in Leeuwarden and online through GoToMeeting on Tuesday 9th February 13.00-16.00 (CET).
