Smart Biosystems UK (SBS UK) has been supported by the INNEON project.
SBS UK is a specialist small-scale anaerobic digestion (AD) solution developer and operator. The company offers standardised turnkey combined heat and power (CHP) installations and seeks to minimise technology risk and eliminate common barriers to deployment. These include the need for planning consents, capacity constraints in grid connectivity, and the need to supplement organic waste with food and conventional energy crops to make projects economically attractive.
SBS UK has recently secured £3.6 million in risk and construction finance for 2015/2016 from Clean Energy Investments, for the construciton of three plants. Further £20m roll-on finance for the future pipeline of projects has also been agreed.
INNEON support for the company focused on helping SBS to think through alternative business constructs, and associated financing needs, and reflecting these in financial forecasts, a business plan, and presentation material suitable for potential investors and partners in SBS.
According to the founder and Managing Director, Ypatios Moysiadis, INNEON was instrumental in helping SBS re-engineer its basic strategy, in delivering a simple and compelling story to potential partners and investors, and in opening new doors.
